i'm lovin' it...

i remembered that i ran through McDonald's the other day on my way to work and that i had a coupon for a free breakfast sandwich along with a purchase of a medium McCafe beverage. so guess who treated herself to an egg mcmuffin and a vanilla iced latte this morning......yours truly! the sandwich was delicious and the latte was ok. the girl pumping the vanilla syrup got a little carried away, making it EXTRA sweet, but it was still decent enough to drink. just had to share my morning treat with you.

have a McAwesome day!

a full year magazine subscription...for FREE!!!

my friend Melissa told me to go to her site (she finds all sorts of good deals and ways to stretch a dollar) and check out the deal for Real Simple magazine, $5 for a years subscription at amazon. i couldn't believe that they were offering a full year for the cost of ONE magazine, so i did it...i added the subscription to my order and proceeded to check out. i looked at the total and it read $0.00. WHAT?!? apparently i had a credit balance of $11 on my amazon account that i didn't know about and they applied it to my order. a magazine supscription for FREE? it's my lucky day!! i continued to scan the other magazine offers and found one of my other faves, Better Homes & Gardens, on sale for $14.97. I decided I'd put my remaining $6 balance to use and got a years subscription (12 months/issues) for $8.97! I can't wait for both of them to get here in a few weeks, woo hoo :oD

i know the resolution is a little shady but i am at work and all i have to work with is my camera phone & microsoft office picture manager (not quite adobe photoshop but it will suffice for now).
****************************************************

for some strange reason i bit off all of my nails last week, i'm talking down to the quick!! now i'm left with a mangled, throbbing mess at the ends of each finger...ouch!
i really want to take a photography class. i enjoy taking pictures but i want to learn how to compose a better image and learn what all the different knick-knacks on the camera are and what they do. maybe i could sell some of my prints one day... ;o)
I LOVE ART!

waiting...

...for my side table to get here. i ordered it on-line on the 4th and i feel like it should be here already. tick-tock WAL-MART, tick-tock!!! :o/ lol, i'm so impatient. any-who here's a pic of it...

introducing...the incredible painting baby!!

my sister Leah and my 14 month old nephew Reese hung out with me today. I've been itching for him to color, paste together, finger paint, something/anything for me. i was curious if he would like finger painting or not and Hobby Lobby had a finger painting kit for sale, so we snatched it up, purchased it, got home, ripped open the box, and stripped the boy down to his diaper. lo' and behold the kid liked it! we all had a blast. below are some pics of him in "the zone" doing his thang and his final creations. we will definitely have a round two with this project. yay!

mirror, mirror, on the wall...

i've had 3 unfinished mirrors that i bought for less than $3 a piece at IKEA from a few years back and finally, FINALLY, figured i would jazz them up...Rae-style. so i ventured to Lowe's two nights ago and pilfered through their 1239847195619498 paint variations and chose the lucky 3 below...

whilst i was there i decided to look through their in-door plants since i "needed" something in my bedroom to liven & soften it up a bit. found this phalaenopsis orchid and couldn't leave without it. she's oh so lovely...we'll call her Lola. ;o)

alas, my finished creation! now to put the picture hanging kit to use and get these puppies on the wall...

next project will be either:
a) master the art of embroidery
b) use the frame i bought (80% off at Hobby Lobby) to make a jewelry board
c) start production on a quilt that my mother and i will be making.

until next time...create! create! create! ;o)

whew! i've been a busy bee...

i did it, i finally got my room clean and organized again. feels good to rid the closet and the dresser of stuff you don't wear any more. this is my clean dresser in my clean room. gah its been so long since i paid it this much attention. i think i might be able to function again...lol.

we started the day by letting my 14 month old nephew, Reese, drive us to Hancock fabrics. ok, so we didn't really let him ride up front with us, this pic was taken while we were parked waiting for the store to open. look how happy he was to be in the driver's seat...

after Hancock we headed over to Hobby Lobby. Found these cute iron-ons and since i already had a shirt & a onesie to do something with for another project, we decided that we would decorate them with the new stuff we got instead. one says "tweet baby" and the other says "king of the crib". oh so cute...

we finished our mini project and thought we should let our model show off our work for us. he loved it! lol, he was pointing to it and check it out any-way...

my mom and i have been talking about taking up quilting, so this guy (yeah, me, this guy right here) can't seem to pass up a fabric remnant bin without grabbing a handful of 'em to take home to add to our current stash. i bought some from Jo-Ann's, Michael's, Hancock, and Hobby Lobby this week, and i'm calling it quits for a while until we absolutely need to replenish our stock. here's the basket i bought the other day filled with some of our remnants. i can't wait to get started!!

so thats it for today, gotta catch some Z's before 8am gets here.

g'nite.
